Abundance
Unity believes that there is no limit to the blessings, abundant prosperity and love in the world -- infinite possibilities and potential. Unity also believes in the Universal law that we receive what we give, whether that is our loving intentions, peaceful actions or our gifts of time, talents and treasures. It is the generosity of our congregants that supports Unity of Sedona and enables us to offer our many programs and ministries.
A Frank Look at Tithing by Rev. Eric Butterworth:
"Jesus says, 'Give and it will be given to you.' The divine flow within you requires but one thing of you: your consent or willingness to be a receiving channel. It is like the water faucet that must be opened to the flow in order that water may pour forth freely. Jesus is simply stressing the need to get into a giving consciousness in order to sustain a continuity of the flow of good in your life. It is not an aggressive direction of monetary gifts. It is first and foremost a commitment of consciousness: "Think give!" In your work, your play, your relationships, and your church, "Think give!" Such thinking will lead to a generous apportionment of funds to worthwhile causes and this will come easy and joyfully, without pressure or sense of bondage. But more important, the giving consciousness will lead to love and nonresistance and accommodation in all situations and relationships." |
